GLENN HUGHES Recovering From Knee Surgery
July 30, 2005Legendary vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH) has posted the following message on his official web site:
"I am recovering nicely from my knee surgery. Thank you for all the well wishes. I am now allowed to go swimming in my pool and I am thankful as it is extremely hot here.
"Lots of good stuff going on with 'Fused' [SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi's solo album, which features Glenn]. We are charting in a lot of countries.
"I am writing the whole month of August. JJ [Marsh, guitar] arrives next weekend so we will be jamming with Chad [Smith, drums] around his [RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS] dates in New York and L.A.
"I am excited about the soccer season starting next week. Life doesn't get any better than this.
Hughes's latest solo album, "Soul Mover", was released earlier in the year on Sanctuary Records.
"Soul Mover" was recorded live at Sound Image Studios in Los Angeles in the spring of 2004 and features Smith on drums, JJ Marsh on guitar and Ed Roth on keyboards. The album also contains a special guest appearance by ex-RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS and JANE'S ADDICTION guitarist Dave Navarro on the title track.
